Regardless of the mistakes you might’ve done before, they will always stay by your side. So, keep in mind that not even dementia can take away the love she has for you. My grandmother, mother and aunt all ...Dear Lisa, <br /> My grandmother, mother and aunt all passed from this disease. I recall that worry was a BIG symptom for my mother way before she moved to a care center. She even worried about imaginary characters. She convinced my step father that she had left a baby behind in Germany during my father's tour there. I reminded her of all the things that DID happen( I was age 9-12) while we were there so I was pretty sure there was no baby. She was abused in that marriage, I can understand having nightmares. By reminding her of all the things we did do I was able to convince her there was no baby and SHE WAS SO RELIEVED she almost cried. There were other incidents but this was the most dramatic. I was worried maybe the same disease was waiting for me, HA! My husband was diagnosed with Pick's Disease, a form of FTD, at age 59.sighUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03069213565929691707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3463278702289836291.post-74230801282530087952013-09-21T21:30:37.635-04:002013-09-21T21:30:37.635-04:00Thanks Tracy and I have been told that there is no...Thanks Tracy and I have been told that there is no point to disagree and to only agree. It's the disease not our mom's talking. Amazing how they return to their childhoods when they sometimes question who we are. Memories we only want the sweet ones! hugsAlzheimer's My Mom My Herohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06521298907696128213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3463278702289836291.post-16185306258130169442013-09-21T17:11:34.615-04:002013-09-21T17:11:34.615-04:00That is what my Mom said also! She would say that ...That is what my Mom said also! She would say that her parent are worried she's not home. It's time to go home, I want to go home etc. We would say you are home, this is your home with all your things and she would get so mad and tell us we were wrong. We learned to agree with everthing and say your mom called and she said it was okay to stay here. That worked for awhile. She started leaving her house to walk home to her mom and dad. You will always have your sweet memories.Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08872623461093211168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3463278702289836291.post-65513682759010683572013-09-20T14:10:27.349-04:002013-09-20T14:10:27.349-04:00Thanks DaciaThanks DaciaAlzheimer's My Mom My Herohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06521298907696128213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3463278702289836291.post-4265868155497640212013-09-20T13:54:13.191-04:002013-09-20T13:54:13.191-04:00Hold tight to the memories.
